The GCA works to advance the civic and cultural welfare of the Greer Community, to conserve the natural beauty, to provide a forum for community participation and interaction and support the community needs. The GCA is a non-political organization.

The Greer Civic Association sponsors the annual Greer Days event, the Great Greer Boat Race, the Greer Round Table, publishes Hit The Trails magazine, maintains the walkway and benches, publishes the annual Greer Calendar and offers its assistance as needed to the Greer Community.
